The literature review of ‘global impact study’ updated with some key findings

As the Global Impact Study gets under way, a review of previous literature has been an ongoing priority to systematically collect and evaluate what we already know in the field of public access to ICT impact evaluation and practices. As a working document, the literature review has recently been updated on the project website. The Global Impact Study of Public Access to ICT (or Global Impact Study in short) housed under the research pillar at telecentre.org, is aimed to study the impact of public access to ICT in various thematic sectors such as education, health, employment, civic engagement and cultural preservation etc. Read more..

The majority of public sector employees do not know about environmentally friendly ICT policies Huh!!

The UK (And I think all governments should find out) government set out its target within the Greening ICT Strategy, which calls for government IT to be carbon neutral by 2012, with office carbon emissions down 11.5% by 2011.

SEACOM sercive date postponed to 23rd July 2009

The increase in pirate activity during April and May 2009, both in terms of intensity and geographical coverage, necessitated a change in SEACOM’s cable installation plans which resulted in a delay in the ready for service date from 27 June 2009 to 23 July 2009. The planned route required the ship to transit an area of increased pirate activity where other ships had been attacked or seized.
