Inspired from Yapa's discussion, I started t o discern this notion. What if the internet has aged and reached its plateau, what would be next? Let's use our imagination and infer the future that would be next to the internet?

Hi, my speculation on what would be the next after internet is something that enhances our telepathic ability.Imagine a system that helps as connect directly (mind to mind) without modems, fibre optics, etc.Think of Dr. Dolittle -the movie.

Hello, That may be possible. Just imagine a built-in internet capable cellphone in your watch. As bandwith continue to increase, endless possibilities will really be realized. Regards, Reynald

Robert and Reynald,

Ironically,, this is a question that I am always asking.

Robert noted that "...next after internet is something that enhances our telepathic ability." I totally agree.

Robert, how do you think the telepathic ability will be transmitted? Will it be through implants, chips, energy shock therapy, blu-rays??? Do you think that some people already have the telepathic ability? In other words, does it already exist?

Bill Gates noted on an interview several evenings ago that the next phase in computers is voice activation and being able to view people with whom you are communicating. How does voice activation and viewing others fit into the telepathic ability?

Robert and Reynald,

If you were chosen to be part of an avant garde research group who had the power for telepathic communication, would you accept it? Why or why not?

If you accepted, you would be able to communicate with three people of your choice. Who would you select? Why?

I am thinking of the integration of nanotechnologies and ICT with human organs and tissues resulting to "enhanced" human capacities/capabilities, in such domains as sight; hearing; remote sensing; communication; speed; strength; endurance and adaptability to harsh environments and interplanetary travels; information capture, processing, storage and retrieval; virtual feeling.

I also would like to have some enhancements like ability to communicate with my pets and my plants.

The nanotechnologies and ICTs integrated into the human organs and tissues could derive sustained power from outside (solar, wind) and the human body itself (heat) - alternative energy indeed :)

I am a bit convinced with Dr. Barbar's Telipathic (?) networking. It will happen one day when no physical devices, mechinaries, equipment will be needed. I do support Dr. Barbar's Telipathy concept. It has been practiced since prehistoric Era through Youga, Meditation and Religion believes. May be that methods are involved much more scientific and based on super networking topology.

One thing might be mysterious, how telepathy works and connects people amazingly using wireless technology......................simply we can imagine that but inreality?

Many have looked at the internet and described it as "a computer network infrastructure" which is technically correct. Today people buy mobile phones that with build in features like email, chat and facebook. They don't need to know that all those features use the internet, for them they just use the phone. I think "internet" will not be mentioned too much in the future by the community. They will just talk about what "connection" they use, or what "services". For those who care about the technicalities, yes, we shall have wide deployment of IPv6 where almost all electronic devices will be connected one way or the other. When you look at photos of your grandson a message pops up on your screen telling you the meal in the microwave is ready and you have a doctors appointment today at 10:00. Then the first the doctor will tell you is "Happy birthday !, you look so much younger than the age in our records".
