This guide is for members who posted blogs to the old telecentre.org website, now available at
http://telecentre.redclaycms.com/. It will help you transfer your blogs to this site.
After December 2008, old website content will no longer be available online.
Why do I have to migrate my blogs manually?
We cannot automatically migrate content to this new site, so members who would like to ensure their old "News & Blogs" (in
English,
French, or
Spanish) postings are still viewable and searchable online will have to cut and paste them into one of the new community websites (either English, French, Spanish or Arabic) by December 2008, at which point the
http://telecentre.redclaycms.com/ site will no longer be accessible.
What about Knowledge content?
Documents and resources contributed to the knowledge section will be migrated to our new
Library by a team of consultants. We will not migrate images.
How do I migrate my blogs?
- Become a member of this site
- Log in to the old site at http://telecentre.redclaycms.com/
- On the upper right corner you will see "You are logged in as" — click on your name, which will bring you to your profile (see an example)
- Click on "View" and you will see a list of links to the content that you've contributed.
- Click on each link and cut and paste the titles and text into your blog on this site.
Tip #1 — When you're on the old site, select Edit and click on the HTML icon in the editing toolbar of the Description box (see below). Then you can cut and paste the source code so that you don't have to recreate hyperlinks.
Tip #2 — When you're back in this site pasting in your blog, go to "What date would you like for your post" (see below) and insert the date of your original posting. This way your blogs will appear in chronological order.
What about the Spanish and French communities?
The Spanish community will launch in October, followed by the French community in November. We also plan to launch an Arabic community in December. Until they launch publicly, Spanish and French users will be directed to the old
Spanish and
French sites.
