A good idea made possible by the advent of low cost netbooks and low cost Solar power to power the netbook. Your idea is likened to a villager who use a micro credit, bought one handphone and charges the locals using that handphone with users' ow...

About Me (biography and organization description)
For many years I have been studying the impact of ICT in Mass Education on society and how to implement them effectively. I found that existing platforms for delivery of multimedia contents in mbytes are not suitable in the age of Internet. Even broadband is problematic if used nationwide all at once. So I with a partner researched to find a solution for this on how existing slow modems can still deliver multimedia animated contents to all parts of the country without which nationwide ICT in mass Education can never materialise as actually happened.

It was a pleasure that at last we have found the answer with the development of AGE.

We managed to finish the project through the grace of our Malaysian Government's two grants.
Areas of interest/expertise and types of services provided:
We are particularly intested in the area of closing the digital divides of developing nation's rural and urban schools.... without the need for expensive broadband. Uisng slow dial ups and yet able to obtain hours/days of animations within seconds of downloads! This is normally impossible.

So we essentially enable countries to achieve the following

1. Enables entire country (rural and urban) to access digital contents without expensive broadband
2. Empowers teachers from blackboard to digital enabled easily for entire country.
3. By going paperless homework/textbooks... a greener country.
4. Enable Ministry of Education to collate students' performance data for entire country anytime.
(You don't have to wait for year end examination results to know the progress of each student for the entire country. - Get it anytime)

We are currently offering our solutions globally to all developing countries and with this would solve the Education for All challenges faced by so many parties globally including UNESCO.

Even Telecenters would increase their reach at least 10 folds ...

Can current telecenters reach out to more users by many folds and really close the digital divides?

Telecenters generally have been effective to bring about better connectivities and bringing ICT to many rural areas. These bring with them a lot of facilities otherwise impossible to many rural poor. One of the most important of these is ICT for education.

It is accepted that millions have benefited tremendously from telecenters around the world.

However, if we are to look very closely into the effectiveness in actually reaching out to the rural areas, one wonders if the numbers reached can be… Continue
