Bato CeC: A Catalyst in Information Technology

Limited internet connectivity and information resources in public and private schools were among the major concerns of Bato, Leyte, a small town with a land area of 7,152 hectares, composed of only 32 barangays. In 2005, the only connection to the internet was through dial-up - no internet service provider (ISP) prioritized putting up their infrastructures in the town.

To address these issues, the Bato Community eCenter (CeC) was opened to the public last December 4, 2006, with the mission of b… Continue

Tanauan CeC: Showcasing to the world 24/7

The Tanauan CeC continues to serve its community as a conduit for efficient delivery of government and other services and a potent tool for empowerment of unserved and underserved communities. As it continues to serve, it also continues to grow, in number and in reach.

From the initial four computers donated by the National Computer Center, the Tanauan CeC now boasts of 16 desktops, 10 of which were obtained through the initiative of Leyte Governor Jericho Petilla, 7 laptops, 14 printers (inkje… Continue

Realistic Path To Sustainability for the Telecentre Champions Group

I observed that the telecentre.org is gloriously accomplishing its plans for the global communities as a whole from the time the final version was released a year ago. It has laid a very strong foundation in terms of building networks, creating content and services, sharing knowledge and connecting networks.

To illustrate, telecentre.org had been like a mother to the telecentres. Its business plans were successfully delivered to its children or members.

As telecentre.org’s rainbow of strong in… Continue

Thank you Madam Claire for your nice words.Your very attention to all sorts of my contributions is a blessing for me.In reality it is a two way traffic. When one writes for some interest,s/he expects some recognition.Unless the recognition is reciprocal the teamwork or friendly environment is missing. We, in telecentre, are a friendly community. We may not have any photo or image at this moment.Yet we have created images in our hearts to adore each other.
If we meet sometime,I will approach you to handshake because you have kindly posted a photo. Thanks for your courage for posting a photo.I will also try to post a photo someday.
Thanks for your time and passion for a friend like me.
Kind regards,
Zainul
