Francophone telecentres and today's challenges
The Francophone Telecentre Leaders Forum started today in Bamako - Mali. It gathers telecentre leaders from Mali; Benin, Congo, Burkina Faso and Senegal but also partners like telecentre.org, USAID, SDC, UNESCO, French Cooperation. This TLF is officially opened by Dr Iam Diallo that represents the Malian Ministry of Communication and ICT.
As part of this opening ceremony, FETEMA (Telecentres Network in Mali) gets recognition receiving equipment from the French Cooperation.

Rwanda : Nyamata Teleservice Centre: Winner of National Award of Excellence in ICT
I am pleased to share with you this news from Paul Barera, Managing Director of NYAMATA TELESERVICE CENTRE-NTC (Rwanda).
NYAMATA TELESERVICE CENTRE-NTC has received a “National awards of excellence in bridging the digital divide”. Paul BARERA who is the founder and Managing Director of NTC received the award on the 31th of October 2008 with accolades in a gala ceremony that took place at SERENA hotel in Kigali presided over by Rwandan Prime Minister Bernard MAKUZA.

On nights and weekends, however, he has a side job - a small company that he started called Green Wi-Fi, where all the employees, including himself, are volunteers.
