All telecentres provide high value service – access to ICT. They help bridge the digital divide in small steps. Financial sustainability issue varies depending upon the business model that a telecentre follows. Many telecentres are public and gove...
Thank you for clarifying a big issue. When you term ‘development’ as top down, I suppose you are referring to the planning, analysis and research that goes into any development project whereas emergence is more happenstance, that is, it evolves wi...
What you propose is a challenging idea “ Global-e-conference” . Incidentally, many of the summits and conferences are being replaced by e-conferences. This is a new trend much like teleconferencing which is being implemented by a lot of companies ...
First, we need to identify areas of development. What constitutes development?
Generally development refers to:
1) Infrastructure development as in roads, bridges, electricity, hospitals, cities, airports, seaports, urban housing etc.

The Banks as established will need to evaluate the business models add fit into the era of unprecedented ICT innovation use of technology. Look at a simple case of banking hours. I was caught up in a car breakdown at Mtito Andei near Kenya's great Tsavo East National Park at June 11, 2009 at 5.30 p.m. At the time no bank was open for business. The next option, ATMs, could not help because they are rare. Think of the Mobile Banking by Safaricom's M-Pesa agents and Zain's Zap agents, next to where you are at the point you got stuck and you are out of box! Voila!
Thanks you also. Lets share all things for this.
I am going to take some initiative to make my city as "Digital". For that I am going to send some digital information to our people which they needs as daily basis. If they will realize it will be more productive.
Can you give me any idea for that ? please let me know.
Hi Wangchuk,
Greetings and thanks for the observation. I agree that these community ICT centers promise a huge transformative effect on public service delivery, especially by providing an alternative efficient way for education and traning, health and public safety info, research ventures, general public administration both at central and local government levels, etc. I hope to talk to you and we exchange ideas that could help us in our respective areas of interest.
Cheers

Hi Wangchuk, Thanks that you liked my profile page. Out of all the themes, this one looked so sunny and bright and very characteristic of the women of today who manage their home and professional life with equal grace. I don't know if anybody agrees, but I found this one very close to "nature" in its pure and colourful manifestations.
Your profile is equally great, especially your areas of interest and your skills. Please feel free to share your views through blogs and discussions. You are very young and all of us can learn a lot from people like you. I am looking forward to your contributions!

Hello,
As many of you know, we are currently looking for partners to collaborate on how to reach out to the rural schools through telecenters. This would enhance the reach of your telecenters many folds if you are currently depending only on CDs ...
In this group we will explore definitions, concepts and model of social enterprises currently working at the ICT4D space and explore ways of how telecentre networks can take all or some of the technology and know-how developed by these entities.
This group would share information on awards or grant opportunities from different organizations across the World. Please feel free to upload/share information as a discussion topic.
