About Me (biography and organization description)
People call me AZUL. Meaning BLUE in Spanish. But, shinning bright in excitement. I'm a Social Entrepreneur and currently working as the Head of Telecentre Excellence at Warisan Global Sdn Bhd in Malaysia.

I'm currenly working on the PID (Pusat Internet Desa) project by KTAK (Kementrian Tenaga, Air dan Komunikasi, Malaysia) to help rural and underserved communities become entrepreneurial and in the process help make telecentres sustainable by creating vibrant communities.

I'd like to thank both Warisan Global and largely KTAK for the opportunity to serve these communities.

P1 Expert Net Meeting - Petaling Jaya - Malaysia

Petaling Jaya, 14 July 2009 - Packet One Networks Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. ("P1"), Malaysia's leading WIMAX telco, today hosted P1 Expert Net meeting to share knowledge and exchange ideas on how to fast-track the growth of connected communities throughout Malaysia.

Pusat Internet Desa (Rural Internet Centre/Telecentre) in Malaysia

The Pusat Internet Desa (PID) or Rural Internet Centre project is a telecentre project initiated in April 2000 by the Ministry of Energy, Water, and Communication (MEWC) of Malaysia. 42 centres were established nationwide and each centre is managed by two people, a manager and an assistant manager. It is one of the Malaysian Government’s initiatives to bridge the Digital Divide between the rural and urban communities through community-shared facilities with computers and internet access.

Here I am referring to telecenters that work in rural communities for indigenous K.M. The rural communities have indigenous knowledge and the processes to manage their collective knowledge i.e to transfer from generation to generation, they preserve it, sometimes they document it and also the systems for sharing the knowledge.
